Our workshop is equipped for both traditional analogue and modern digital electronics, allowing us to work on equipment ranging from vintage valve amplifiers to modern SMD and microcontroller-based systems.
Please note: We do not currently offer home Hi-Fi repairs or domestic television servicing. Due to parts availability and the additional time involved with these types of repairs, we recommend contacting a specialist Hi-Fi or TV repair service.

Synthesizers, Keyboards & Vintage Equipment
We also accept many types of electronic keyboards and synthesizers, from vintage analogue instruments through to modern digital workstations.
Our experience covers equipment dating from the early days of electronic music through to modern embedded electronics. We’ve also worked on specialist vintage instruments including Hammond organs and Fender Rhodes pianos.
If you have an older or unusual piece of equipment that is no longer supported by the manufacturer, don’t assume that it can’t be repaired. Component-level electronics repair and fault-finding can often extend the life of equipment that would otherwise be considered uneconomical to repair.
Component-Level Electronics Repair
Where possible, we repair the actual fault at component level rather than replacing an entire circuit board.

For valve equipment, we use both an AVO valve tester and our own custom-designed CTS VT1 valve tester.
This allows us to diagnose faults across a wide range of analogue, digital, valve and modern SMD electronics.
Where a circuit board genuinely cannot be repaired, a replacement board can be fitted where one is available. We can also investigate alternatives where original replacement boards are obsolete or unavailable.
Workshop & Testing
Our Sunderland workshop has dedicated repair benches, including an ESD-protected bench for sensitive modern electronics.
Equipment is tested after repair to ensure that the fault has been properly resolved and that the equipment is operating correctly before it is returned.
For mains-powered equipment, we also carry out electrical safety testing as part of our repair process, checking that the equipment is properly earthed and insulated before it is returned to you.
Pricing and Terms
We don’t require any payment up front. All repairs are subject to a minimum £40 diagnostic and workshop charge, which is included in your final repair bill rather than being an additional charge.
The initial charge covers approximately one hour of bench testing and fault-finding. Some electronic faults, particularly intermittent or complex faults, can take considerable time to diagnose. Once we’ve identified the problem, we’ll provide you with a repair estimate wherever possible.
In most cases, the final cost will be in line with the original estimate. If further faults are discovered during the repair, or additional work becomes necessary, we’ll discuss this with you before carrying out any significant additional work.
For older or lower-value equipment, it’s worth considering whether repair is economically sensible. If you’re unsure, please get in touch before bringing the equipment in. We’re happy to discuss the likely options and whether we think repair is worthwhile.
Our approach to repairs
We want you to be happy with the work we do. While we don’t offer a fixed warranty period on all repairs, three months is used as a general guide for repair work.
If the same fault reoccurs within this period, please contact us and we’ll be happy to take a look. If a different fault develops, we’re also happy to discuss it with you, although this may require a separate diagnosis depending on the circumstances.
